Hi . I've had a lump in the right side of my next for over5 months. I've recently been to my doctor again after being told it would go away after 2 weeks. I've been referred to the head and neck cancer clinic but I really don't know what to expect . I'm only 16 and my mum says it's not likely I have cancer and I want to believe that but I'm so scared looking through all the stuff online I don't know if I'm just scaring myself. I'm going for a scan next week and have had blood tests I just want to know if anyone can give me any advice because I'm pretty scared. And is it likely I djust have cancer or could it be something else

Hi B, Please try not to worry until you have a diagnosis, chances are it will be not what you are fearing. It's a anxious time waiting for appointments etc, but try & think about other things, as you just have to get on with your life, Please let us know how you get on, thinking of you & try not to worry too much, hope this helps x

Update: thank you so much I went for a ultrasound scan and they said it should be nothing to worry about if it was a tumour the shape of the gland would Be different so I Am relieved but the lump is still present hopefully it will go away soon but still don't know why it's here had some problems with my ears when I move my jaw to one side I can't hear anything out of my right ear not sure if this might be related . It seems like the doctors just keep fobbing me off saying it will go away .thanks for your support hopefully will get to the bottom of it soon x
